Beneficial Supplements for ADHD

ADHD people are known to be low in certain vitamins and minerals. These are usually critical in maintaining optimum cognitive function and energy for an ADHD person.

Supplements are a must for both Adults & Children.

Beneficial Supplements for ADHD

  • Iron - Sleep & better Behaviour

  • Vitamin B6, B12 and other B vitamins

  • Omega 3's - Brain Function

  • Magnesium - Relaxation & Sleep

  • Zinc - Impulsivity

  • Vitamin C - Dopamine - One caution: Don't take vitamin C within an hour before or after taking ADHD meds. Its ascorbic acid prevents the medication from being absorbed fully in the blood stream

There are supplements that can reduce the severity of ADHD symptoms and support your brain in the short term and long term. Along with the ones listed above which are well known for ADHDer's to be deficient in, the following supplements can also be effective and beneficial to help you get through your day. I have tried many of them and definitely recommend trying them for yourself. They won't work for everyone, but I do think they are worth trying.

Some might not be suitable for children, so check with your GP, Naturopath or Health Shop.

  • L-Tyrosine - Mental Clarity & Focus (This is great for both adults and kids. Available in powder or capsules)
